8-Day Legends of Serengeti Mara River Crossing and Big Cats Safari

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by your private safari guide and transferred to Arusha. Along the way, enjoy your first views of Tanzania’s landscapes, traditional villages, and open plains, with Mount Kilimanjaro occasionally visible on clear days.

Spend the remainder of the day relaxing and preparing for the safari adventure ahead.

After breakfast, transfer to Arusha Airport for your scheduled bush flight to the Northern Serengeti. The flight offers spectacular aerial views of the Ngorongoro Highlands and the vast Serengeti ecosystem.

Upon arrival, your safari begins immediately as you explore migration corridors where wildebeest, zebras, giraffes, elephants, and predators move across the landscape. Later, settle into your luxury tented camp and enjoy dinner beneath the African sky.

Today is dedicated to exploring the Mara River region, one of Africa’s most dramatic wildlife arenas. Large herds of wildebeest gather along the riverbanks while crocodiles wait below and predators patrol nearby, creating extraordinary wildlife encounters and photographic opportunities.

A bush lunch allows you to remain immersed in the wilderness throughout the day before enjoying a scenic sundowner and returning to camp for dinner.

After breakfast, enjoy a game-drive transfer through the Serengeti as the landscape gradually changes from migration territory to the predator-rich plains of Central Serengeti.

This region is renowned for its resident lion prides, cheetahs, leopards, and abundant wildlife. Following lunch at camp, continue exploring during the golden afternoon hours before returning for dinner and relaxation.

Spend a full day exploring one of Africa’s finest wildlife destinations. Early morning and afternoon game drives provide excellent opportunities to observe predators, large herbivore herds, and fascinating wildlife behaviour across the vast Serengeti plains.

With a picnic lunch in the bush, you can maximize your time in the field while enjoying exceptional photography and wildlife viewing throughout the day.

After breakfast, travel toward the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Africa’s most extraordinary wildlife sanctuaries.

Descend into the crater floor and enjoy a game drive among lions, elephants, hippos, hyenas, vast grazing herds, and the endangered black rhino. Following a picnic lunch surrounded by breathtaking scenery, ascend to your lodge for a relaxing evening.

After breakfast, travel to Tarangire National Park, famous for its massive elephant herds, ancient baobab trees, and diverse wildlife.

Explore the park’s varied habitats while searching for elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, lions, and an impressive variety of birdlife. As the day draws to a close, enjoy the beautiful golden light that makes Tarangire one of Tanzania’s most photogenic safari destinations.

After breakfast, begin your journey back to Arusha. Along the way, enjoy an optional visit to a local school for a glimpse into community life and Tanzania’s education system.

Lunch is served at the beautiful Arusha Coffee Lodge before visiting Shanga, an inspiring social enterprise that empowers people with disabilities through the creation of handcrafted products made from recycled materials. Following the visit, transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your onward flight.
