4-Day Rwanda: Gorillas in the Mist

Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, enjoy our VIP Meet & Greet service. Your representative will expedite immigration, assist with your luggage, and guide you to the VIP lounge for complimentary drinks and snacks. Once ready, your private driver/guide will escort you to your hotel.

After breakfast, we visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial, a moving and educational site honoring over 250,000 lives lost. The memorial offers insight into Rwanda’s history, reconciliation, and recovery, leaving visitors both humbled and inspired.

After the memorial, enjoy a scenic 3-hour drive to Volcanoes National Park, stopping for lunch en route at Sooko Restaurant. As you ascend through rolling hills and villages, prepare for remarkable photo opportunities. On arrival, visit the Ellen DeGeneres Campus of the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund, an inspiring center dedicated to gorilla conservation and research.

Rise early for an unforgettable trek in Volcanoes National Park, tracking the rare mountain gorillas — only about 1,063 remain worldwide, with a third residing here. After a briefing at park headquarters, your expert rangers will lead you through rugged forest terrain. Treks last 2–6 hours depending on gorilla movements. Spend an hour observing these magnificent creatures in their natural habitat before returning to your lodge to relax and share your adventure.

After breakfast, depart early for the Golden Monkey Trek, an easier but equally rewarding experience. Enjoy up-close encounters with these rare and lively primates before returning to the lodge for lunch. Check out and embark on a scenic 3-hour drive back to Kigali for a farewell dinner and airport transfer.
