Day 1: Arrival in Rwanda
Upon your arrival in Kigali, our team will extend a warm welcome and transfer you to Akagera National Park for an evening game drive. Experience the magic of spotting Giraffes, Buffalos, Elephants, and an array of bird species.
Day 2: Game Drive and Boat Ride
After breakfast, you will set out for the morning game drive to catch a glimpse of early risers and animals missed in the previous drive. After lunch, enjoy a boat ride on River Akagera, discovering water-loving birds and animals along the shorelines.
Day 3: Transfer to Kigali
After a morning game drive, you’ll head to the scenic Mt Mutumba (1825M) for a picnic lunch, providing a breathtaking view of the park. Following this, the journey takes you back to Kigali. Engage in a short city tour, exploring Genocide Memorial sites and local markets. Choose from a luxurious stay at Kigali Serena Hotel, a mid-range option at Golf Hills Residence, or budget-friendly accommodations at Okapi Hotel or Step Town Hotel.
Day 4: Transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park
Embark on a picturesque drive southwest to Nyungwe Forest National Park, making fascinating stops in Butare town and Nyanza. Discover the country’s cultural and historical facets with visits to the National Museum, National University, and Botanical gardens. An additional stopover at Nyanza allows you to explore the Old King Mwami’s palace. Upon reaching Nyungwe, the evening is dedicated to a captivating forest walk.
Day 5: Chimpanzee Tracking
As the sun rises, venture into Nyungwe Forest for a thrilling chimpanzee tracking experience. The forest, teeming with biodiversity, offers encounters with Silver monkeys, Owl-faced monkeys, Ruwenzori colobus, L’hoest’s monkeys, and Grey-cheeked Mangabeys.
Day 6: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
Bid farewell to Nyungwe Forest as you journey to Ruhengeri town and then to the renowned Volcanoes National Park. Enjoy a scenic stopover at Gisenyi town, offering panoramic views of Lake Kivu, and indulge in a delicious lunch. Upon arrival at the park, unwind and recharge at your chosen accommodation
Day 7: Gorilla Trekking
An unforgettable day awaits as you embark on a gorilla trekking expedition after a comprehensive briefing at ORTPN Offices. Traverse the bamboo forest, listening for the telltale sounds of breaking bamboo that signal the proximity of the gorillas. Spend an awe-inspiring hour with these magnificent creatures before trekking back to your lodge. In the afternoon, explore the twin lakes of Ruhondo and Bulera, enhancing your connection with Rwanda’s natural wonders. .
Day 8: Transfer back to Kigali
After breakfast, take a leisurely tour around Ruhengeri, absorbing the local atmosphere. Subsequently, embark on your journey back to Kigali, arriving in time for lunch. Drop off will be at your Hotel in Kigali or at the airport for your flight back home.
